Hunger Alliance

Last spring, FARM (Farm Animal Reform Movement) launched the Global Hunger Alliance to promote sustainable, plant-based solutions to world hunger and to oppose factory farming. The Alliance now includes 50 anima liberation, environmental, and social justice groups from 20 nations. The Alliance has been working on the 2002 World Food Summit which will largely shape the global food policy for the next decade. It has been preparing detailed position papers, gathering endorsements, gaining allies, and planning street activities.

The Alliance is also helping member organizations with local projects, promoting plant-based solutions to world hunger.

Silent Auction

We made just under $2500 on our annual silent auction. Although we had more items this year, we made less money than last year. We have felt this was the result of not having our web site up at a crucial time and the fall-out from 9/11. If you have suggestions about how we can make this more successful next year, please contact us with your idea.
