HELP! FIX ME Maine's Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program
You can have your cat fixed for $10, and your dog fixed for
$20. Let us help you fix your cat or dog. There aren't enough homes for all of
them. If you can't afford to fix your cat or dog, call 1-800-367-1317 or (207)
287-7621. You may be eligible for the state's low-cost spay/neuter program, if
you receive or are eligible for one of the following programs: Food Stamps,
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income
(SSI), Social Security Disability (SSD), and/or Maine Care (Medicaid).
GAHS Spay Incentive Certificate
In
an effort to cut down on the number of people who continually bring in litters
of puppies or kittens from the same mothers, the Greater Androscoggin Humane
Society offers spaying assistance for these moms. The owner of the mother is
issued an Incentive Certificate to be used at an area veterinarian. Dogs are
given a certificate for $125.00 and cats a certificate for $75.00.
Neutering Discount Assistance
The
Greater Androscoggin Humane Society has funds available to offer neutering
assistance to families in financial need. $25.00 for dogs and $25.00 for cats.
We do have certificates available now and can be used at area veterinarians.
Please call or drop by the shelter to see if you qualify.
